Mike Richardson is a well known country dance instructor and former competitive dancing judge who specializes in teaching dancers to be comfortable and look good on the the country dance floors in a VERY SHORT period of time. He is located in Rockport, Texas and is available to teach both private and group lessons.

Mike started dancing ballroom (fox trot/waltz/east coast swing) in sixth grade and assisted in demonstrating steps for a classmate's mother who was an instructor affiliated with Arthur Murray.  After the movie Urban Cowboy generated Country night clubs and dance halls about 1980, Mike started dancing Country.  His first major teaching/judging gig was 1986 in Reno, NV.  He was a member of the National Teachers Association, which was formed in 1980 to promote Country Western dancing and communication and standards with dance instructors.  He became a member of the United Country Western Dance Council when it was formed in 1989.
